Does this mean I'm still not ready to move on from my ex?

by Matt

Had a great date last night with an amazing girl, but every so often during it my ex would pop into my head. It would be thoughts like "we were at this same restaurant and sat there"/"she ordered the same thing that my ex did"/"last time I was here was with my ex and her friend". The thoughts were just small stupid ones and this girl is a great girl, but do having these things come into my mind during a date mean I'm not ready to move on yet?

It's not so much that you're not ready to move on from your ex, it's about you healing from that relationship. We are only human and naturally when we date new people we tend to put up the comparison chart. And there are some things that your new partner will do that resembles many people you might know including your ex.

My Advice: If you find that you cannot enjoy the company of another woman without these things continuously interrupting your focus on her, you may want to take a time out to heal. The last thing you want to do is bring unnecessary baggage to a new relationship. You want to start out new and fresh! Don't miss out on the opportunity of an amazing lady because you can't bring yourself out of the past. Your Ex has moved on and now it's time that you must move on too. This doesn't mean to jump head first into another relationship. The last thing you want to do is break this woman's heart because you can't seem to let go. If you think you are still in love with your ex, take a chance and pursue it, but they are called EX for good reason. Wishing You The Best In Love~
